Welcome to The Gate Children's Ministry Blog.

It is my hope that this site will be a blessing and an encouragement to you parents as you follow the Lord and disciple your children. Discipleship happens all throughout the day, every day. Deuteronomy 6:7, and 11:19 both command parents to teach their children the ways of God “…when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Facilitating and equipping parents to fulfill their call to raise up the next generation of fully devoted followers of Christ is one of the primary goals of The Gate Children’s Ministry Team.

Our vision for children: We want to see our children...
Simply Adoring Jesus and becoming passionate followers of Christ.

Our Sunday mornings are designed to provide a God-Encountering Children’s Ministry that Teaches Children to Follow Christ…
· In Passion
· In Purity
· In Purpose

Our prayer is to see children who have an awakened passion for Jesus, children who walk in freedom and purity, children who know they are loved by God, created in his image and created with purpose.

As you follow the posts below, you will be able to see what we are teaching on Sundays. I hope this will be a launching place for you to partner with us and continue the teaching at home. I will post a review of the past few weeks, and from this point forward, enter a weekly update.

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. Psalm 145:3-5

From Genesis to Revelation, every book whispers the name of Jesus.

It is the whispering of that beautiful name that we are seeking to discover in scripture. We are making lapbooks focusing on the names of God, the foreshadowing of Jesus and the thread of redemption.

Beginning in Genesis with Elohim, we learned about God, Creator and Judge, who spoke and created the heavens and the earth. He formed and fashioned Adam out of clay and he also formed us in our mother's womb. God is truly the potter and we are the clay.

We have had the opportunity to have special guests in class this winter. Frank Borst taught how to mime stories and work with clay. Adam (Jeffrey Thompson) visited us one week to tell us the way it really was in the garden. Scroll down to enjoy some of the photos taken this winter in chapel time.
